Incremental Progression.

What do I mean by that? Many students don’t know what to practice first. They come to me wanting to jump straight to Flea bass lines, or they watch endless YouTube videos, then wonder why they’re still stuck. So they get overwhelmed and give up.

As Victor Wooten says, music is a language. We didn't learn English by reading the dictionary from A to Z. We learned one word, then another, then simple sentences, and eventually conversations. Slap bass works the same way.

So, what we really need when trying to master the slap technique is a system that allows us to make incremental progress without information overload. Each new lesson builds upon the last, creating a solid foundation for us to grasp the technique. Every completed lesson is a small win – it builds confidence and prepares you for what’s next.

YouTube videos don't follow this incremental approach - they dive into specific licks, tricks, and songs, but they don’t connect the dots. It can be great for learning a single lick, but it doesn’t give you the full learning journey.
